religion, truth, believers, deceivers, hal-lindsey, false-doctrines

I've been re-reading author Hal Lindseys The Late Great Planet Earth I had told my wife that I wanted another copy of it.  My wife bought it for me for Christmas, she is a blessing it was hard to find, she had to contact Hal Lindsey's ministries to obtain it.  I read it in the early seventies and was a believer then.  In reading it again I can see where the things he saw happening have been happening.  Now I know some people will be turned away from this because of who Hal Lindsey is.  While I do not agree with the man politically, I believe him to be a True Christian whose insights into the world and the way things are coming about are backed by the Biblical Prophecies he quotes and illuminates on.

We are seeing a world where the "churches" are not professing the True Jesus Christ, but are resorting to "religious legalism" and political savagery to bring people into line with their worldly beliefs couched as being based upon The Holy Bible.  We are seeing the New World Order being extolled by politicians as something that is needed.  We are seeing governments being controlled by corporations and countries destroyed by the power wielded by so few.  We are having rants by both sides about homosexuality while the people are looked upon as objects in a power struggle by both sides.  We are witnessing the fall of America as people prefer material wealth and luxuries to the well being of their fellow man.  Outsourcing our work so that corporations make better profits, and becoming dependant upon other nations for our manufactured goods.  We are seeing a continual degradation of personal freedoms and beliefs so that the cause of the mighty-the wealthy- may be thrust forward and profits shall reign.

Mr. Lindsey also speaks of the falling away of the leadership within the churches and the charlatans that fill the positions of leaders.  He also says that there may be true believers in Christ within the congregations that are angry and dismayed about the lies being issued forth as the Way of Christ.  The apostacy of the churhes is evident to those who know Christ and what He teaches, yet many follow along not saying anything defending the pastors or those in the church who are not following Christ and are therefore leading away from Christ.

How many do we see on the news, in the media, or behind the pulpit, that proclaim we must make the world right for God ??  How many of them know the Truth that only God can make the world right, for He is Holy and we are His Creation ??  Apparently not enough or their message would be rejected and buried with their self serving lies.

How many pastors are involved with politics not for the good of God but for the gain of wealth and power they derive from the political leaders they back ??  How many liars are propped up on television as being the ministers of God saying that God wants your money because only then can you be saved ??  How many supposed "good" church attending people see people starving and say it is the peoples own fault for not working hard enough, while they themselves collect on work done by others whom are paid little ??  How many make a show of donating much in church, and then take it off their taxes so the government is actually the one donating to their organization ??  How many do good works to be seen, and as soon as the cameras are gone they resort back to who they really serve ??

Christmas is just a few days past, but already I see the ugliness of the world grabbing peoples hearts again.  I'm not for welfare for the lazy, nor am I for religion being the answer.  I'm for people opening their hearts and minds to the message of The Holy Bible.  The message is not one of hatred and destruction, those messages are contained because we are Loved by God and any Father does not want to see those who come from Him ro be destroyed by their own behaviors.  He tells us what becomes of us if we choose not to heed His Way.  Then He sends us His Son to die for our sins so we can have The Way to Him through His Son Jesus Christ.  That doesn't sound like hatred and destruction to me.  We are still given the choice, we can refuse Him and choose to deny The Way of Life He gives us.  But that is us choosing not to serve Him, not Him rejecting us.

I choose Him and The Way of Life Jesus Christ.  I don't choose wealth, power, religion, politics, drugs, alcohol, sex, self esteem or anything above Him.  That does not mean that I'm able to turn from those things on my own, it means I gave my life to Him and He has changed me to where those things are part of my life as they are needed to live but not the focus of life or the goal of my life.

I want to share this because I do not know how much longer I will be able to share it, and to me His Love and salvation are worth more than all the world and it's treasures.

As always your comments are welcome. Just do not attack each other, we may disagree but we should still be able to communicate.

With His Love and Peace God Bless you.

We don't win any battle by killing other people. We just extend the misery of the war of the flesh against the Spirit.

God's children were not brought for hatred, we were brought for Love.

Cowboy -- I have his 34 cd teaching on revelation and his 40 cdteaching on the Gospel of John. They are both really good. Expensive but I believe worth every dollar.

Give me a P.O. Box or something and I will send you a copy. If you like it as much as I did buy an newset from Hal or just send him a donation.

Now that may be against the law these days, but I don't want any money for it and I figure if you like and buy his then I done him a favor. even if you just send him a donation that's more than he would have gotten and I'm the one out 34 cds, a cd case, and shipping. Not him.

As they say pay it forward. If you like send to a friend and tell them to do the same.

I do love religious rhetoric, any god will do, from the right or left, does not matter.

I would love an honest Christian answer from you. State for the record please;

In 2004 the Indonesian tsunami, an estimated 250, 000 Muslim lives were lost, many young children, in a flood of biblical proportions. As a Christian, do you believe these young Muslim victims are now being forever punished in hell for worshiping the wrong god?

King Dave:

As I understand the scriptures there is an age of accountability, where one is not held responsible because one could not understand the choice. So if you are asking me if I believe that God would punish those children who did not understand ?? My answer would be No !!!

I don't think God would punish those children for what was taught to them by their parents.

Any god who would allow children and adults to suffer and die horribly either can do nothing to help or doesn't care to. He is either impotent of evil.

Grisham and bluearcher, It would take more than just a few words to explain the ways of God. Non-believers often have an opinion that God does not care. What the Bible teaches is that all things that happen are for a purpose and that purpose is to bring us face to face with God.

As for the adults who die in a tragedy the Bible says they are without excuse, because God has made himself known through His creation and that if you chose not to acknowledge Him, you will pay the penalty for sin.

Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
Romans 1:19-21

I know this sounds harsh and many people have trouble reconciling this with a loving God, but he is also a just God and so sin must be punished.

Enjoyed the article CG.

Thank heavens it's a myth. To be forced to worship at the feet of an entity that will throw 2/3 of the worlds population in a lake of fire for not believing in the same unsubstantiated manuscripts as Christians would be a mental torture that would be a burden to say the least. To call such monstrous actions 'just' is sad.

Grisham my friend,

Those who choose to ignore God and His Way are told what will happen. I take no joy in that, neither does God as He says in a passage-paraphrased- I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, turn then and let us reason while there is still time.

We are not forced to worship at His feet, we wish to for He is The Glory and is worthy. I used to think like you in that I thought it would be boring to praise and worship God for all eternity. Then I realised praise and worship meant I got to sing out in joy for the Glory of God praising His Greatness and Holiness. That sounds like a great eternity to me, being able to sing, being able to share the warmth of His Love and the never knowing pain or sorrow ever again. Being surounded by Love and having Jesus Christ ever before us as our Master in Love.

To be without the Love of God would be hell to me, I'd be empty and alone, burning with the desire to be able to be with Him and to know His Love. Even if I was surounded by many I knew in this life I would be miserable.

I understand what your saying. I would find it more hell-like to look at my friends, loved ones and even strangers and think that some entity is going to throw them into a burning lake for all eternity and that me (if I were a believer) and everyone like me is okay with it. Sorrow isn't enough IMO. I don't find the idea just or deserving. I find it a monstrous concept that fills me with anger.

There is no way I'd bow down before such a being. I'd be more likely to feel revulsion.

Grisham --

Ephesians 6:12 For we[c] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

This script is telling us that Satan and thefallen angels are raining down on us through spiritual warfare. Basically meaning he is whispering in our ear. The only way to beat the devil is to open your heart and invite Jesus in. Because when you invite Jesus in he sends us the holy spirit that take up residence in our body. Then GREATER who is IN you. Then who is in this WORLD.

So you are either being use as a tool for Satan or Jesus. Jesus says you are either for me or against me.

It would take more than just a few words to explain the ways of God.

It is not about "the ways" of any god. It is about the non existence of any god.

There is not a single shred of evidence throughout all of history to support god belief.

What the Bible teaches is that all things that happen are for a purpose and that purpose is to bring us face to face with God.

The Bible teaches a specific (and oft times outdated) morality via superstition. The foundations of beneficial interaction do not originate from any holy book but via social evolution. Why only go as far back as the scribblings of uneducated desert tribes?

Outgrow childhood indoctrination and cast off intellectual laziness to overcome delusion. You are obviously motivated enough to write and seed on the subject so take it to the next level.

It is a matter of having the intestinal fortitude to question faith (belief without proof and beyond reason) and accept the truth.

Hi Grisham,

Thank heavens it's a myth.

I am sure you didn't mean to thank heaven right? Heaven is where God is you know and since you don't believe in God, there is no heavens for you to thank...LOL, I know, it's just a figure of speech for you...,LOL, sorry, I just fine it funny.

I would find it more hell-like to look at my friends, loved ones and even strangers and think that some entity is going to throw them into a burning lake for all eternity and that me (if I were a believer) and everyone like me is okay with it.

Do you know why there are no tears, no sadness, nothing that offends in Heaven? It's because there is nothing there that can cause one to cry, be sad or offended. In this day, I cry watching a sad movie, even the news at times, and I do not find any joy in hearing or watching others suffer. I understand from my study of the Holy Bible that God is a consuming fire, which just means He can speak and that He created can become nothing, blotted out as if it never existed, one can't cry, be sad or be offended by something that never existed?

This is all shared in God's written word. So, basically, I use the Holy Bible as an instruction booklet, however, if I choose to throw the instruction book away and not use it, I can't blame the one who gave me the book to use in the first place just because I chose not to follow it's instructions and in the end become nothing as was written in the book?

All souls belong to God, He instructs us what is required to be something with Him throughout eternity or we are free to choose to be nothing without Him; can't blame Him for telling us the truth just because we didn't believe what He said.

bluearcher,

It is a matter of having the intestinal fortitude to question faith (belief without proof and beyond reason) and accept the truth.

I use to question my faith and in this world, it is tested almost daily. So far the truth from God as it is written is coming to past just as He foretells it will, this is proof for me and I accept it. If I didn't accept it, it would be like my Dad saying, don't touch that hot stove, you'll burn yourself, then I turn around and touch the hot stove and scream out, and my Dad says, what happen, did you touch that hot stove? and I say...no, as my hand is burning, the proof is in my hand, no matter what I say out of my mouth!

I almost said thank God. How unatheist of me. LOL. But yeah...just a figure of speech.

If your God existed, He created the truth making him a monster. I never understand how Christians can't see how monstrous it is for a God to offer no proof and expect everyone to believe in him and the ones who don't are supposedly supposed to go to hell. Believers just shrug and say 'well, you can't blame him'.

Damn right I can blame Him.

If He's so all powerful, he created the rules Christians just shrug off as if it's not His fault. How do they live with themselves when they look at their wife, husband, cousin, friend or other loved one and think they're going to hell for eternity? What mental torture!

There is no proof whatsoever. Christianity is a relatively new religion. Maybe Christians when they pass will be confronted at the pearly gates by Ra.

As for the stove; the proof is in your hand. That's why you believe it's hot.

That's why Jesus tells us not to be unevenly yoked.

2 Corinthians 6 :14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil[d]? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:

    “I will live in them
    and walk among them.
    I will be their God,
and they will be my people.[e]
17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers,
and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.
    Don’t touch their filthy things,
    and I will welcome you.[f]
18 And I will be your Father,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
    says the Lord Almighty.[g]”

Jesus also told us that he comes as the divider.

    Luke 12:

49 “I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning! 50 I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. 51 Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! 52 From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against.

53 ‘Father will be divided against son

    and son against father;
    mother against daughter
    and daughter against mother;
    and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law
    and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.’[e]”

True. You can see and hear your dad though, right? That's proof that he exists and his previous treatment of you would show that he cares about you and so you might want to listen to him.

        Hey there Grandpa,

It has been many years since I read and re-read Late Great Planet Earth. And I lost count of how many copies I gave away. Some of the recipients became committed followers of Jesus.

Many people scoffed at the idea of terrorist attacks on American soil, but then we had the first World Trade Center Attack, then Oklahoma City, and then the daddy of them all 9/11. When will the next one occur? No one knows, but there will be more of them.

And it was Hal's book that caused me to have some very serious concerns about the religious right. I have been dealing with those concerns for over three decades. I prayed long and hard about those concerns, like was it all my imagination? But over the course of time God has validated those concerns, and no it was not my imagination.

I happened to be up late on Christmas morning and by chance turned on the midnight mass broadcast, as I watched the pope and thousands of others wearing strange clothes in a room dripping with gold I thought to myself, there is no way in hell that Jesus would ever choose to associate with these people. If Jesus was to return to us today how many of us would even treat him with courtesy or respect... He is not wealthy and he doesn't dress to kill, he would probably look like a homeless man to most of us on first glance, and most likely he would seek out the homeless and downtrodden of our people far before the pope and the other 'religious leaders' who value $ > human life.

Assuming he just comes right out and drops from the sky like a glowing ball of light, if he came back same as before for a year or two wouldn't we all look pretty awful. And which do you think would give him a more accurate and real view of the world? Dropping down in glory and majesty where all the televangelists can proclaim loudly how glad they are he is here, or if he came back as an unknown regular looking homeless guy and asked them for some charity?

        Stevie:

My father-in-law and I used to debate about the terrorist attacks coming here. I was of the opinion that the attacks woukld be internally against the freedoms of the people. He said he thought that outsiders would come in. Personally I still think it was an internal job, to give them reason to reduce our liberties, and to take control and build up the military with our taxes so they can control us with them later.

I agree when Christ returns there will be no mistaking Him for Who He is The King of Kings, come to rule over that which is His. Many will try to flee because to late they will realize He is the One who has complete control and power. When He set's His foot on the Mount of Olives and the ground splits open and a river flows, none will be able to deny who He is. Woe to them who oppose Him that day for He is the Warrior King and mighty is His wrath.

I go along with many of the things you point out, cowboy, but I do believe some Christians don't help the cause, by stating or doing things that are a little too selfish. And of course, those are the things that get the press.

        Davy:

Christ was not selfish, nor was He a grandstander. He humbled Himself and became poor for us, He took our sins and paid our price at the cross, He forgave even those who put Him on the cross-all of us who have ever lived and who will ever live-.

There is nothing I have that isn't His, not my wife, my children, my grandchildren, my soon to be great grand child, my mom, my car, my home, my money, my life, ... nothing that isn't His to with as He will. For He is my King, my Master, and I am His slave.

We as Christians have forgotten it is He we serve, not the other way around. Unfortunately it is the ones who act proud of their religious ways, and live a legalistic life that seem to get all the press.

All we can do isa live for Him and reflect His glory in our lives humbly giving Him the Glory.

        Peace my friend.

Cowboygrandpa, this is 85 year old Katt, first I would like say Happy New Year ! Back in my day ,all we had was "GOD" ,not believing in GOD was not heard of ! Believing in the Bible and practicing what you preach was protocol and expected. We did not pick and choose out of the word that what suited our needs , "ALL" of the word was bond, and we dare not abuse or misuse it!

"GOD IS LOVE" the world cannot change this, for it is he who has made us and not we ourselves!

I don't care how much you profess you are a christian, if you do not follow the Bible ,you have fallen short of the glory of "GOD" !

Take a test , how many if any of the Ten Commandments does one keep ? If you are hating another for "any reason", you are not a christain, If you don't believe the poor and needy should be helped , you are not a christian!

There is so much more I could say but it would be a sermon, this country is on the wrong track ! politically ,morally, economically, and etc. because of the "seven deadly sin's " and these three factors

        HATE,GREED, CONTOL

until we learn that their" is" an higher power than us! and no matter what we "persist", the higher power will alway's "win" in the end

        GOD BLESS!

God Bless You my friend. Happy New Year !!

Amen to your post. If we cannot give the Love we receive, who are we trying to fool but ourselves ??

Love kept for one who deserves it is rarely given, for rarely does one deserve Love. God gave us Grace instead of what we deserve.

        Peace my friend.

I'm not even Christian and I get sickened by the things you mention in your article, cowboygrandpa. Someone mentioned the mass said on Christmas and the dripping of gold and I completely agree. And the Catholic Church isn't the only one like that. They reap in billions and those billions should be put towards doing "Gods work' IMO. Not giving fancy robes to the Pope or anyone else.

        Grisham:

I'm not judgemental, at least I try my hardest to remain true to God for He is able to judge the heart of all. The ones we as Christians are told to rebuke are our brethern who lead lives that are not glorifying to God and who give a poor picture of those who are in Christ.

The leadership of the Catholic Church is in apostacy as I see it. But that does not mean that all who are Catholics are.

If you would care to. Read what is said about the falling away of the believers and see if we do not seem to be in that time. These are the times that bring the sorrow of the anti-christ to the leadership of the world, for so mant are fed up with religion, politics, and the financial mess.

        Peace my friend.
