Where Do We Go From Here ??

Where do we go from here ??

Can someone please tell me where America goes from here ??  We are fighting amongst ourselves, and allowing the 1% to destroy us while we pay them to do it.  Now if that is not the beginning stages of insanity what is ??  We have the politicians of both parties being fed by the corpratists, so no matter who is elected part of the corporate agenda will be put in place.

We have those who are "religious" trying to get elected so they can do their evil in the name of their god's no matter what those who vote for them believe.  We have people on opposite poles of the charged belief system wanting their beliefs to be above everyone elses, when they do not hold the hallowed ground for all who believe.  We have believers and non believers battling for supremacy so their beliefs are the ones that matter most.  When in reality each and everyone of us will answer for what we believe individually.

We have the wealthy who believe that money is the answer to who is right or wrong, and believe that money should be the basis for determining right or wrong- we have those who believe this even though they are not wealthy-,  we also have the opposite end of the spectrum who believe that money itself is evil and should not exist- I'm not one of those, I believe money is a tool to be used to fix or build things not destroy things or people-.   We have people who believe that war is right if we gain materially from it, and people who believe that war is never right -some wars are needed, but very few are needed for the reasons the politicians give- it is never acceptable for genocide  to be practiced by any nation.

Health care is something else that astounds me, why do people want to deny people health care because of the cost ??  What is your soul worth ??  What is your heart worth ??  What is your life worth ??  What is the life of another worth ??  Less than yours ??  Do you esteem yourself as being above that of another of God's Created beings ??  If so by what measurement are you to measured with ??  Your wealth ??  People lose wealth every day.  Your looks, people age and lose their looks.  Your skills ??  Someone else has more than you.  Your self esteem ??  That is a measurement you place upon yourself as being worthy, perhaps others do not esteem you as highly ??

How about the fact that you are alive and are a human being and deserve the same consideration as others ??  That is what I believe.

So where do we go from here ??

All comments are welcome, and disagreements are fine.  Just please respect your fellow Viners.

I'm becoming disgusted with the self promoting politicians from all parties.

We are still the ones left to pay the bills and deal with the ills they bring upon us.

Because health care is traded on Wall Street....and education may be just around the corner if the capitalists gain any more ground on their crusade to get rid of public schools in favor of charter schools.

In other words, you ain't seen nothing yet.

MoCowgirl:

Well, I've seen their plans to stupify the masses. My middle daughter is a school teacher and she told me that the no child left behind joke was terrible. It din't raise the level of education it lowered it so kids could pass.

They have to dumb down the people to make America the slave state they dream of. Where they can take the resources and enslave the people while calling it Capitalism.

Lying pigs they are and pigs don't fly. So neither do they.

Vote the scum out of office now and forever.

charter schools were selected as a large component of the No Child Left Behind Act on 2002. Specifically, it stated that students that attended schools labeled as under performing by state standards the right to have the option to transfer to a different school in the district whether it be charter school or not, thus making charter schools an option for students attending an under performing school.

No Child Left Behind also suggested an outline that would entail under performing schools possibly being reorganized into charter schools. It sanctions that if a failing school cannot be shown to be making adequate yearly progress than it will be transformed into a charter school.

Voting them out is key, but we need to quit voting them in to begin with.

I always wondered what "the No Child Left Behind" legislation was really about ... now it is very apparent. It was all about the money, as usual.

The money trail might be found at ....

As usual, Mo makes some amazing points. I think Occupy was the best chance in a long time for Americans to make their voices heard, but they allowed their media and politicians to demonize them as dirty, filthy do nothings. It might even have the opposite effect, because now the wealthy see how easy it is to crush the poor under their heels, while their government and media back them up.

I think one of three things will happen.

1) America just destroys itself under the weight of its own greed.

2) America turns into a Christian theocracy with many of its devout citizens backing it up and only realizing what has happened after it's too late.

3) Occupy picks up again in the spring and people start doing something besides demonizing them. The Republicans get voted out (all or almost all of them) forcing them to re-think their policies on creating a theocracy as well as their financial policies. The party is restructured and makes a come back as a real conservative alternative instead of the trash it is now.

Great to see another article from you, CG. Stay strong, mate.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering where we go from here. Sometimes it seems so broken we can't see a way to fix it.

The political system does need to be restructured, but how do you begin when most of the politicians (that we elected) don't really care to change the way things are done, because they might end up in the unemployment line. Voting them out of office might take a long time.

Education has been dumbing down since the 60's. I had a decent education, but our grandchildren will be lucky if they can spell when they graduate High School.

My sadness over the failure of the country to embrace civil rights is overwhelming when I read about racism still being alive and well in this country.

And the U.S. government's recent attempts to infringe upon our civil liberties, such as privacy and right to a speedy trial is scary.

I think it is harder on those of us who remember the patriotism and hope for a future that this nation had at one time. I'm with you CG, where do we go from here? Our children's and our grandchildren's future is at stake.

lost in America:

One way or another those who accept Him will be in a better place one day. I just wonder where the beliefs they held went so wrong.

We can only try to love and educate the lost ones who don't know about true freedoms. The Republican party was always about being responsible. I don't know what happened to them after Ike.

cowboygrandpa- good article, and in agreement-... how about Austria, or ...- just kidding, but you are right- we need them out of office, but we are too far gone for that. Waiting for Occupy and better weather- this nation's politicians need to see the ratio change: 330 Million to 1,000.

We have to keep voting against their ways and educate the young to stop buying into the thought process of enslaving people for the gain of the wealthy.

Stop The Hypocrisy

It is amusing to read that some people apparently still think that the wealthy:

- Are a monolithic bloc of people who all think and act exactly alike. There are stupid wealthy people (although its a good bet they won't remain wealthy very long) and smart wealthy people, venal wealthy people and good-hearted wealthy people, and everything in between.

- Are a brand new phenomena that just afflicted us in the United States in the last 50 years. The idea that "Those with the gold make the rules" isn't exactly a hot news flash.

- Won't act in their own selfish self-interest. Again, this is one of those ideas that we came out of the caves with. We ALL act in our own self-interest in some way.
