Hyprocrisy

Hypocrisy ??  What is hypocrisy ?? Lets look at the actions of what people despise and why they call people hypocrites.

Hypocrisy is a term used to describe behavior that is opposite of what one claims to believe in !! It is wearing a mask and acting differently from what one truly believes.

First off let me say hypocrites are alive and well in all political parties as well as all social strata's of life.  This is not meant as bash to any one political party, nor as a bash to the wealthy or poor.  I'm writing this because I'm very very disappointed in the uber hypocrisy being displayed nation and world wide by a group of people who should be the farthest thing from hypocrites.

Christians, who are you serving ??  Where is your Master ??  Is He is heaven with our Father: or is he on earth in the banks, the political offices, the sports arenas, the entertainment fields, the flesh of the easily deceived for your gain, the self righteous hatred of the needy or of those of a different skin color, the new cars and bigger houses, the drive for profit over the Love of The Prophet ??

Whose love is more important to us ??  The love of the world and it's way, or the Love of Him and His Way.  When does one stop following Him and start following the fleshly ways ??  When one no longer regards Jesus Christ as their Lord and Master, and therefore their Savior.  Because He is only Our Lord when we serve Him and die to our selves and our fleshly ways !!!

And no that is not a works based salvation doctrine in case some of the deceivers out their wish to try and label it as that.  The proof or fruit of our relationship with Jesus Christ is a changed life.  One that is obvious that He has made the changes in us.  One that allows us to no longer desire a life of sin and in fact turn from it, for it is now poison to us and we cannot drink or eat of the poison and be satisfied with the effects of it.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ come out of the way of the world and stop being hypocrites.  You fool only those who are not of His Way, and bring shame onto His Glorious Name for which you will answer.  Stop thinking that the wealth of this world lasts into eternity, or that the pleasures gained on this earth are worthy of losing His company forever.  He warned the Pharisees of His day, and what it would mean to them to continue on behaving in their hypocritical ways.  Yet to so many the message fails to reach them.  He is The Way, not Him and something else.  He is The Way, not works to please Him but only insult what He did on the Cross, for all of us.  He is The Way and the only Way to God the Father for everlasting life with Him.

Hypocrites are not welcomed into heaven unless they have repented and reject the way of this world, and come to Him forgiven by His Work on The Cross.  He said "it is finished" and it is.  He is The Way, He paid our price and He is not hypocritical.

I am called to share what He gives me to share.  One can agree or disagree, but one cannot deny that they have been told.

As always your comments are welcomed.  Agree or disagree, just please respect your fellow Viners.

Peace.

CG, it's a tough job but someone has to do it. Another viner asked why Christians do not stand against those who are not Christlike in their actions and their words. We should all denounce those who bring shame on the name of God, it reflects badly on all of us.

I'm not the favorite of many conservatives because, I speak out and denounce the love of things over people and the need to Love God more than anything or anyone else. Then we are to Love our neighbors as we love our selves.

Thanks for standing tall.

Accepted with pleasure.

I understand why certain conservatives have a problem with you. I am a moderately liberal conservative, conservative where it matters and liberal when it is the left way to go. I just recently got up the nerve to admit I live in the south.

Something else to consider.

We are told that the people aho claim to know Christ but don't are punished more severly. So all the ones who like to spout off about non believers going to hell and suffering are doing themselves a dis service.

God takes no pleasure in people going to hell, that is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us. To be joyous over someone going to hell because you think you are better than them is your own condemnation. It is sad.

When it comes to hypocrisy, the most visible of those who seemingly commit the offense are celebrities. We see the Anthony Weiners, the Tiger Woods and countless conservative politicians who carry on as if they're pillars of virtue, yet are repeatedly caught cheating on spouses or involved in any number of illegal and/or sexual escapades.

In truth, we are all susceptible to acting with the same hypocrisy as the famous are, because acting "out of character" is something we've all done, and are subject to.

A great book on the subject is: "OUT OF CHARACTER - surprising truths about the liar, cheat, Sinner (and Saint) lurking in all of us., written by David DeSteno and Piercarlo Valdesolo.

Under the right circumstances, we can all be the hypocrite and/or liar we despise when we see it in others. In my opinion, many of today's conservative politicians have become experts at appealing to the darker angels of human nature by learning how to exploit these human frailties.

AZPADDY:

Just got back from taking my mom to dinner.

Thanks for adding to the conversation. I don't deny that all of us are guilty of lying at times, or even of being hypocritical. It is the hypocritical lifestyle that I mean. The day in day out living of a lie, while claiming to be in Christ, yet seeing nothing wrong with denying the poor the food they need, or the sick the health care they need, but being overly concerned with the fatness of their bank account, or the cut of their clothes, or the places they dine, or the address they live at, or the newness of their car, or having the latest invention, ...

While saying the less fortunates just have to work harder for what they need, when the rules of this nation make it almost impossible for small individuals to compete with corporations and make a living.

It is the hypocrisy of the pull yourself up by the bootstraps while following the laws that are against you doing it.

It is not only the GOP/TPer's. But they are the biggest part of it that I see.

A very good article my friend. Hypocrisy is living on the outside and being different on the inside. Showing the world what they want to see. There are many who claim to know Christ who do this everyday and think they are getting away with it. Truth will always triumph and you cannot hide forever.

Thanks my friend.

It is my intent to bring a light on the darkness the hypocrisy lives in. Christ is the light, the flesh is the darkness.

I have a brother who is always knocking me for my work in the church. He says that in his opinion people who go to church are hypocrites. Well, I tell him those of us in church are hypocrites, just trying to get better with the Lord and ourselves and everyone else.

Being a hypocrite to me is living the opposite life that one claims to be living. If you are working in the church for your Love of Christ you are no hypocrite.

If you are working in the church to gain the admiration of the people, ya might be a hypocrite. ;~)) ;~)) Since I do not believe you are working for the admiration of the people, I seriously doubt you are a hypocrite. :~)) :~))

I think he meant we think we are perfect, but he is mistaken. We know we are not. If we were we wouldn't need God.

Might I add that they are not building their treasures in heaven, but are mucking things up on earth for those who do believe.

I hate to repeat myself, but I can't resist bringing out this wonderful Gandhi quote whenever it seems appropriate: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians, they are not at all like your Christ."
I was reminded of this while reading your article. It is sad how far many Christians have deviated from how their supposed idol acted. I see so many Christians fighting against policies that would even the playing field, that would make the lives of those less fortunate than them easier. I have heard self proclaimed Christians say that the lower class are their not because of bad luck or lack of opportunity, but because they are somehow lazy and don't work hard. I can't help but think, "Wasn't Jesus a champion of the poor, of the weak and unfortunate? How can you claim to worship him when you act so contrary to his way of life?" Just my thoughts. Nice article grandpa.

See, this is why I appreciate a true Christian like you CG. You follow his true teachings not the farce perpetrated on humanity for 1,700 yrs.

In fact, I don't consider you a Christian. That name has been ruined to me by the posers. I consider you a follower of The Way which was the original name given to his followers before Constantine came along.

I'm honored to know you my friend.

See, this is what we need more of. Christianity would not be vilified by so many people if there were more Christians who followed the spirit of Christianity rather than the letter. So many Christians are so preoccupied with what the Bible says that they forget to think about what the actual intent of those words was. Well said cowboygrandpa.

No human being is perfect. However, we can recognize that fact and also still strive to be honest and worthy and not hypocrites. To make the honest effort and try to recover from errors and not repeat them I think points the way to the best most of us mere mortals can expect to achieve.

To knowingly be a hypocrite is to deceive others for a brief while but not ourselves even for an instant.

We have to live with ourselves for our entire life...and that I think is all the reason most of us have to not want to be hypocrites.
