Greed to me is a sin of pride.  One that states one deserves to be a self serving idiot, and be rewarded for it, while others suffer for it !!!!

I imagine that everyone, has had a liar promise them something, and had the promise broken by the liar.  Only to be told they would perform the promise later if they the person would just trust them again.  I don't know how many times that has happened in my life with the politicians of both parties.

Well, I'm much older now and I don't fall for their lies anymore.  I instead see the lies for what they are, the manipulation of the many for the gain of the few at a rising cost to the many.  I'm not just speaking about money here.  When greed is prevalent good will towards our fellow man is not.  The greedy will dispute this if they read it.  They will say that greed is needed to spur growth and cause investments.  Their lies are canned rotteness. 

When I or others like me give money to those in need it is not for a return on the money given.  It is to help another person gain something they need and to possibly help them find work that pays well enough to live.  An investment in making a new medicine to cure illnesses should not be for financial gain.  Yes the costs have to be covered, and people need to pay their bills and eat.  But the whole thing is mercenary if it is based on profit and not giving to another as you would have them give to you.  At what point do the farmers of the world decide to raise the prices so high that only the wealthy can afford to eat ??  At what point does the property owner decide that the water flowing through their property is theirs and dam it causing others to be waterless ??

A look at our society will reveal just how evil the love of money and power are, and how corrosive it is to a foundation based upon loving our fellow man and doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.   People are being taught that money is the all consuming drive that makes the world go around.  That with money one controls their own destiny and can shape the world how ever it is they want to shape it.  That is one of the biggest lies there is.  Money may control those who worship and love it, but it cannot change what will be.  Because at some point when vey few have what is needed to live a decent life, war will be declared on the wealthy and their greed.  This is something they will bring upon themselves with their hard heartedness, and their lack of even the simplest courtesy and spark of love towards their fellow man.

Now you may disagree with me and say people will always be greedy.  To a degree that will be true.  But one cannot eat money, and one cannot clothe themselves with silver or gold, nor can one buy a home when the value of the money used is not considered valuable anymore.  We have been deceived by the money changers into thinking this life is about all we can buy, and how much we can own. 

Let me present this to you in a way that is clear.  We own nothing !!!  We have possession of things, but we don't own them.  We die and the things remain.  We go broke and someone else gets the things we thought we owned.  We continue to foster a world of greed and those without will try and take what they want, and we will have wars that are for materials and the cost in blood and misery of that is beyond what we cannot afford to pay !! 

Now look at the political parties through out the world.  What is the one thing they all have in common.  They believe their way is the only way to rule in a manner which is correct for everyone else.  What is the one thing they do not agree on.  That someone else has the right to rule differently than them.  That is also a form of greed, it is trying to control the political environment in order to gain complete control over the world.

Greed isn't only about money or power.  Greed is also based upon the value one places upon themselves in comparison to another.  A greedy person can be one that only values what is good for them and could care less about the effects of the self serveredness upon the lives of others.  The battle over homosexuals having the same rights as non homosexuals is a picture of that.  Both sides claim that their rights are being infringed upon.  When in reality the homosexuals are being denied the right of being recognized as an individual with the same rights as a non homosexual. 

We can also look at the greed of the church when they say they have the power to limit Salvation based upon their views instead of Christ's views.  They are being coveteous of the power of Salvation which is in Christ alone.  But how many churches today try to sell their wares on televison or the radio and internet.  Claiming that this oil is holy, or that this book written by a greedy salesman will save you, or that if you send them money God will bless you, or ... ??  When in reality Jesus Christ gave the Salvation of Himself, and charged no amount of money for it at all. 

Do you see where greed is leading.  It is leading right to the anti-christ as is promised it would.  Because the world is in such a financial tailspin that people will actually turn to the devil to let them continue to practice their greed.

Take a stand against greed.  Say no to the lies and begin to help people see the truth.  The love of money is not the answer, the love of people is.
