Wow !!! I never thought I'd be writing about pastors attacking our president. Instead of praying for him, and our country, because we are told to pray for our leaders. We are also told about the differences in government in the Holy Bible.
Here is a definition given from a Biblical dictionary, Nelsons Bibilical dictionary:
GOVERNMENT). In Bible times God exercised government through many persons and institutions. earthly authority; those who rule over others in order to keep society stable and orderly. Only God is the sovereign ruler of all. When human governments exalt themselves above God, they go beyond their legitimate function in society (Dan.:5:31The basic unit of government among the Hebrews was the fathers house or primary family (Gen.:12:1;Num.:1:4). Above this was the clan (Num.:36:6) and then the tribe, governed by a leader who was chosen by representatives from the tribes (Num.:1:4). Over all these units was a central leader. In early days, Moses or Joshua (and Aaron and his descendants in the religious sphere) served as central leaders among the Israelites. After Joshuas death, numerous local or tribal leaders known as Judges stepped forward to lead. These judges exercised many governmental functions, but no central leadership existed during those days. Only Samuel approached national status as a leader. The possibility of a king as central leader of the nation was foreseen as early as Genesis 17:6; Deuteronomy 17:1420. The kings governed by using bureaucracies similar to those of other ancient Near Eastern kingdoms. Kings who overstepped the legitimate bounds of government under God were often confronted by prophets such as Nathan, Elijah, or Jeremiah (2 Sam.:12:11). Isaiah the prophet pointed to the coming Messiah who would be the supreme ruling king and agency of Gods government of His people (Is.:9:67).After the fall of Jerusalem in 586 b.c., the Jews were ruled by foreign powers such as Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. During most of these times, however, the Jews were allowed a measure of self-government. In time the office of High Priest took on political as well as religious dimensions. At most times there was also a group of local Jewish leaders that formed a governing council. In Jesus day, this body was called the Sanhedrin. Made up of both Sadducees and Pharisees, it was presided over by the high priest.Jesus taught that earthly governments exist by Gods will (John:19:11) and are legitimate as long as they do not take over the role reserved for God (Mark:12:13). Romans 13 discusses human government as ordained by God. Revelation 13, on the other hand, discusses it as degenerate and demonic. Christians live in the tension created by the fact that governments can be good (Rom. 13) or evil (Rev. 13). When governments promote good and suppress evil, they fulfill their God-given function (Titus 3:1; 1 Pet. 2:1314). But if government exalts itself as sovereign over all life, then it has overstepped its bounds and is a handmaid of evil.
Now I've read and studied, pehaps not as much as those who are on the radio or television, beating up our currrent president. Yet when our former president GW Bush was taking the country into the wars, and the insanity of his economic terrorism world wide. These same pastors praised him and said we needed to pray for him in those hard times.
Now I can understand praying for him, because I did. I prayed that he would have good leadership and wise consultants. Ya know what?? His prayer team leader turned out to be a lying drug using con man who was paying male homosexuals to have sex with him-while he was a married man leading a large church, and being the spirtual leader of the prayer team for the POTUS, Ted Haggard- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15536263/ns/us_news-life/t/haggard-admits-sexual-immorality-apologizes/

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Saying that he was a “deceiver and liar” who had given in to his dark side, the Rev. Ted Haggard confessed to sexual immorality Sunday in a letter read from the pulpit of the megachurch he founded.
The disgraced former president of the National Evangelical Association, which represents 30 million evangelical Christians, apologized and said “because of pride, I began deceiving those I love the most because I didn’t want to hurt or disappoint them.”
“The fact is I am guilty of sexual immorality. And I take responsibility for the entire problem. I am a deceiver and a liar. There’s a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I have been warring against it for all of my adult life,” he said.
Still the conservatives cannot see why true believers in Christ reject their political and financially based rejection of moderate or liberal presidents or candidates.

From the link:
This is not the first time Haggard has explored those sins on TV: He has been a guest on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and was the subject of HBO's documentary "The Trials of Ted Haggard." The latter program showed him attempting (and often failing) to get a new job outside the church. Now it appears he's stopped trying: The special shows Haggard launching his new ministry in Colorado Springs, Colo. — the same town he left after the scandal.
Now these pastors on the radio and television have something in common with Ted Haggard. They are conservatives and do not deny their political preferences. It just makes me wonder how much more they have in common with him as such as being liars and deceivers. Because they are fighting their own dark side which is the control of the people and government based upon their own greed and legalistic approach to Christ's Way of life.
I mean when I read the Bible it is to lift me up and away from the cares of the flesh and the ways of man. It is to gain insight into my Makers Way and His desire for how I should live to please Him. Not to be a conservative who places the ways of man before God and say look at the Bible and see how man lived in righteousness back then.
Because to me the Holy Bible is God's way of saying look at all the people in this Book of Mine. What do you notice about all of them but One-Jesus Christ- ?? Were they not all sinners ?? Were they not all imperfect ?? Did they not all fail in some ways ?? Do they all need the same thing to be acceptable to Me ?? Have I not laid out for you My Way, in the way you who have eyes can see, and you who have ears to hear can hear ?? Is it not clear that man is not My boss, and that I work as I will in who I will ?? Do you not see that any political or religious based rule that places mans way above My Way is the way of fools ?? Why then do you continue to let liars, and wolves in sheeps clothing to deceive you ?? Is it not clear that no political party or religion-True Christianity is not a religion, it is His Way of life- has found any way to make the world better, but they continue to divide and cull the believers in Me farther from them ?? How long will you suffer for the love of the world and it's ways, before you see that I AM He that is over all things. Beware of those who say they have the way in their political or religious ways, for theirs is the way to hell with them.
From Genesis to Revelation His Message doesn't change. Only the people do, and we see throughout, that all of their ways are for naught without Him. So why aren't these pastors praying for our president, instead of leading a conservative hate fest ??
Christians live in the tension created by the fact that governments can be good (Rom. 13) or evil (Rev. 13). When governments promote good and suppress evil, they fulfill their God-given function (Titus 3:1; 1 Pet. 2:1314). But if government exalts itself as sovereign over all life, then it has overstepped its bounds and is a handmaid of evil.
Just what are the conservatives trying to do except exalt their power and say: women don't have the right to choose, but men do, taxes on the wealthy should not happen, but the poor should pay nore, health care should only be given to those who can afford it, wealth makes a person more worthy, the works of the flesh; politics, wealth, religion, business, ... are more important than being guided by The Holy Spirit and serving Christ as His Way is shown and commanded by Him to be followed if you are of Him. That the government should rest in the hands of a Mitt Romney who is not of Christ, but is backed by the hypocrites who say they are of Him. They must believe that somehow the devil is restrained through allowing his chosen ones to lead. These very same people who make all kinds of accusations about President Obama, don't look at Mittt and question how bad he would be for America and the world.
Yes I believe there is a great falling away from the Church, and it has it's root from the leadership who deny Christ while claiming to live under His Authority. How else do you explain their twisting of His Way to include those who deny Who He really is as being acceptable as their leader.
What does it say about their beliefs ?? To me it says they have abandoned His Way for the way of this world and still want to be seen as leading the way to Him. When they are in reality leading the way to the anti-christ who will come as being seen as the light to solve all of mans stupid and warring ways.
I will not attend their services or give money to them during the time of their blindness. I'm turning away from them because they are not representing my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I will not support their apostasy.
So I will be praying for them, and for those in their gatherings that they see the great evil they are committing. I'm also praying for our President and congress. That He will guide them and not allow satan to lead them into his ways.
I will continue to fellowship here on the Vine and in private groups, until such a time as the elections are over and sanity returns to them, or the Good Lord calls me Home away from the lies of this world.
God says He will provide for His work being done, I support that. I will not provide for those using His Name to promote their political and financial gain. I call on all people to examine what is being taught in their churches and gathering places and to ask the Lord and The Holy Spirit to grant them discernment as to whether they should be supporting the messages being given. I believe He will lead us to where we should be.
Comments are welcome, differences happen, attacks should not.
What do you think ??
