First off there is nothing wrong with working and being rewarded for your work with gaining the things one needs to provide for ones self and family.  There is nothing wrong with running a business and making a profit.  There is nothing wrong with making sure one has enough put aside to see one's family through hard times.  Those are actually good and responsible things.  I believe in working and making sure one can provide the things needed to live as well as giving back to God and honoring Him for what He allows me to be blessed with.   

So I don't want the greedy to say, well he just hates those who have more than him, or he is jealous of the things we have.  Let me set you straight from the get go.  If I really wanted all the wealth and material things, I could gain them.  I'm a pretty good salesman for what I believe in, and if materialism is what I thought was right, I'd be out selling it and convincing people to buy into it. 

Wealth -materialism- is a sickness that eats ones soul, and consumes the life of people as they strive to gain ever more material things to satisfy themselves.  They are never able to be content with what they have, because they are always afraid someone will have more them them.  That in itself should point out that it is a sickness of the heart.  Why does someone need more than they will ever use ??  Because it makes them think they are better than other people, they base their whole self worth on what they own, never realizing it owns them.

I know that the sick ones don't even realize they are sick most of the time, they think they are the normal ones  and everyone else has the problem.  That is what Jesus Christ was saying to the Pharisees and scribes who asked why He ate with sinners.                -Paraphrased- Christ said He did not come to save the healthy ones but the sick ones, and the sick ones who denied they were sick, didn't realize they had need of His healing.   Just like today the world is full of people who have bought into the lies of materialism and blinded by the deceit of it.  They made up a name for it, Capitalism, as if naming greed differently makes it acceptable to God.

Way back in Genesis we see Cain slay Abel because Cain was jealous of what Abel did in offering up to God his best of what was given to him and being blessed by God for it. While Cain tried to keep what was best and offer up what was least to God, and keep the best for himself and was angry at his brother Abel for doing what was right, so he killed his brother to try and remove the competition he thought was in his way of being acceptable to God.   It was never about the competition, it was about the way one honors God and and views Him in our life.   See God has enough Love for all people, we don't compete for it.  

Now the politicians today are just like the politicians of old, they want you to serve them instead of them serving us.   So they spin lies about the wealth being the most important thing they can bring to us, because with wealth comes power.  Jesus Christ said you cannot serve two masters. 

So we will either serve Him or mammon, because truly our hearts will be pulled one way or the other.  I follow Him because there is no other Way into His Kingdom.  Others think they can sit on the fence and play both sides against the middle.  To me that is being lukewarm, for you are neither hot, as I am for the Lord, or cold as non believers are in their acceptance of Him.  Jesus Christ said in Revelation He will spit out the lukewarm for it is neither hot nor cold and is not satisfying in any way-paraphrased-.

Wealth is a major theme in the Wisdom Literature of the Bible (Prov.:10:15; 13:11; 19:4). The most important observation of these writings is that wealth comes from God (Prov.:3:9). The possession of wealth is not always the sign of Gods favor. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? (Jer.:12:1) became a familiar theme to the writers of the Old Testament. The popular view that wickedness brings poverty and goodness brings wealth is strongly opposed by the Book of Job.The prophet Amos thundered against the rich and prosperous inhabitants of Israel, who sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals (Amos:2:6). Their wealth was corrupt and under a curse because it was founded on exploitation of the poor.In the New Testament, many warnings are given of the dangers of letting money and things possess a persons heart. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus spoke of treasures on earth and treasures in heaven and called upon His followers to be careful of which treasure they chose (Matt.:6:19, 24).Many of Jesus parables, such as the rich fool (Luke 12:1321) and the rich man and Lazarus (Luke:16:19), deal with people who made the wrong choice, choosing earthly wealth over heavenly wealth. But the only true and lasting wealth is the spiritual riches of Gods grace (Matt.:13:44).

Now of course, there will be those who say wealth is from God.  Yes it is, but wealth isn't always a sign of God's favor.  God uses the wicked to show things that go against Him, just as He uses the faithful to show things about those who walk with Him .  So it is how one lives that is the key.

How many times have I read posts from conservatives that say God wants us to be wealthy.  Rome and Egypt were were wealthy and they fell because they did not fear and honor God.  They chose to think their material goods would be enough, and they rejected He Who made all things, instead putting their trust in gold, silver, cattle, crops, slaves, ...  all things that God made they worshipped instead of worshipping Him the Creator.  Then when all those things were taken from them by He Who Created them, they had nothing left and became a footnote in History, once a great nation now just a failed people.  The people believed in their rulers and saw them as god's, just as people today see politicians and religious leaders as god's to be listened to and worshipped as the way to acheiving happiness and contentment.

Isaiah 24:4-6

⁴ The earth mourns and fades away,

The world languishes and fades away;

The haughty people of the earth languish.

⁵ The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants,

Because they have transgressed the laws,

Changed the ordinance,

Broken the everlasting covenant.

⁶ Therefore the curse has devoured the earth,

Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned,
And few men are left.

And those who dwell in it are desolate.

 You know there is a picture of the earth becoming polluted by the ways of man who think gain of materials is everything, and don't take into consideration we were appointed as care takers of His earth, not strip miners who come in and destroy things for short term gain while causing long term pain and pollution.

Again we have the politicians who are bought and sold by those who think wealth is the ultimate reason of life. 

I'm sick and tired of them destroying God's earth for their gain and our pain !!!   Time to stop listening to them and start listening to The Holy Spirit while we are still able to.

I will be writing more articles if it is His will.    I'm not going to give up on people, because He never gave up on me, and He doesn't want us to perish.

This is to point out the lies and propaganda foisted about by the greedy to justify their greed and still try to say they walk with God.  I don't care what they say, because a million lies by them does not change His truth.  Their lies will not gain them entry into His Kingdom, but they do cause a suffering on earth for all people, because they try to impose their ways instead of His !!

I'm calling you out, just as Elijah called out the false prophets of Baal.

1 Kings 18:21, 25-29,30-39

²¹ And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word.

²⁵ Now Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "Choose one bull for yourselves and prepare it first, for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it." ²⁶ So they took the bull which was given them, and they prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even till noon, saying, "O Baal, hear us!" But there was no voice; no one answered. Then they leaped about the altar which they had made. ²⁷ And so it was, at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, "Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened." ²⁸ So they cried aloud, and cut themselves, as was their custom, with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them. ²⁹ And when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention.

 

 ³⁰ Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me." So all the people came near to him.
