How many of us have been betrayed by someone or a group of people we trusted and loved ?? I would think everyone of us has been through that in one way or another. The parties of the politicians have in some way betrayed all those who believe in them and trust to do the right things for us and our country.
I've been betrayed many times and have betrayed others many times. Not because I wanted too, but because it seemed like I had to, in order to get what I wanted most. I'd imagine the answer would be the same from most people, except for the "perfect" ones who lie all the time and could never admit they had done someone wrong in order to profit for themselves.
Saying that, this country of ours has been betrayed mightily over the last 44 years, more so than at any other time in our existence, with the possiblity of the slavery years being the exception to that statement. But that is what I'm seeing as the GOP/TP'ers as wanting to return too. The slavery years, the wealthy making all the laws for their benefits and, trying to take away the rights of the individuals to address the injustice by electing people who will represent all the people instead of just the select few.
The Nixon years. Mostly years of warfare and justification of the conservative view points, with theft and deceit as his most memorable accomplishments. Gerald Ford being his hand picked successor pardons him for his crimes against America and her citizens and sets legal precedence for the presidents being forgiven for their evil without ever admitting to it or repenting of it. Not Biblical at all, but very conservative, in that it preserved the picture of the conservatives being above reproach for their actions and behaviors. While making them seem forgiving of the misunderstanding the American people have of them. Very devilish of them.
The JimmY Carter years. Inherited a poor economy and a littany of social unrest do the policies and criminal behavior of the administrations of Nixon and Ford. Made some improvements but suffered from the conservative propaganda hurled his way, and the hostage in Iran situation. Made the tough decisions and was leading us to the correct way to fix things but was stabbed in the back by the Reagan /Bush duo of dumb and darkness. Who brokered a deal with the Iranians to not release the American hostages until Reagan took office. Links are available look them up if you wish to deny it.

FTL:
When the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Shiraa" printed an exposé on the clandestine activities in November 1986, Reagan went on television and vehemently denied that any such operation had occurred. He retracted the statement a week later, insisting that the sale of weapons had not been an arms-for-hostages deal. Despite the fact that Reagan defended the actions by virtue of their good intentions, his honesty was doubted. Polls showed that only 14 percent of Americans believed the president when he said he had not traded arms for hostages.
While probing the question of the arms-for-hostages deal, Attorney General Edwin Meese discovered that only $12 million of the $30 million the Iranians reportedly paid had reached government coffers. Then-unknown Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North of the National Security Council explained the discrepancy: he had been diverting funds from the arms sales to the Contras, with the full knowledge of National Security Adviser Admiral John Poindexter and with the unspoken blessing, he assumed, of President Reagan.
Poindexter resigned, and North was fired, but Iran-Contra was far from over. The press hounded the president: Did he know about these illegal activities, and if not, how could something of this magnitude occur without his knowledge? In an investigation by the Reagan-appointed Tower Commission, it was determined that, as president, Reagan's disengagement from the management of his White House had created conditions which made possible the diversion of funds to the Contras.
What better way to begin the Reagan Years than by showing what an incompetent president he really was. Reagan was an actor being directed by the corporations and the powers that be for the eventual collapse of freedoms world wide. It has been working out well for them as those who continue to believe in the Reaganomics scam, and the lies that he brought freedom-he actually brought right wing terrorism as a political tool into being acceptable by the blind-. Reagan was an actor who portrayed being a believer in Christ and who was thought of as a conservative. He was really neither according to the way he opperated. He was the beginning of the Fascist regime the GOP became since the Nixon fiasco.
GH Bush the thousand points of darkness that spread through his lies and deceptions continue today. His new world order statement really went well with what his dad with the Nazi's. Because that is what the Nazi plan was a new world order with deciding who was acceptable or not. Nafta was brought into play by him.
Bill Clinton he was a good president for the economy, but his supporting NAFTA and the shameful personal behaviors while in office left marks that blot out a lot of his work to help the USA and the rest of the world. One has to question the veracity of B C's claim to Christianity based on the continued lusts and the adulterous dalliances he made a part of his on going life.
GW Bush the son of GH Bush just continued the complete looting of America that was begun under Reagan, continued under his dad and blessed by Clinton. But GW Bush added his own evils of two wars not put on the books by his administration as well as tax cuts for the wealthy who needed them the least. The Patriot act and allowing the family of Bin Laden to fly out when all other planes were grounded surely leave a stain as crimson as the blood he spilled in Iraq when they did not attack us . Left us in the worst financial condition since the great depression, whom he left for the next president to handle.
President Obama took office and was immediately faced with hatred for being bi-racial. Handed an economy that was sliding into a depression, he made the moves that needed to be done to patch the gaping holes left by his predecessors' wrecklessness, and to stop the flooding loss of jobs that began under the Bush administration. Saddled with a do nothing congress by both parties the man has faced the hardest presidency of any president including FDR. Being called out by the right wing conservatives for not being legalistic like they are in their christianity, as well as being called out by the left wingers for being to conservative and practicing his beliefs which goes against theirs, the man has had few who stand with him. Yet he is doing what needs to be done in order to keep America free, from the constraints of the relgious right wingers who would make this a country of a legalistic christian theocracy they believe in, or the non religious at all country that many on the left wish the country to be. He is maintaining the freedom of religion not against or for religion but if religion.
So as I consider my president I pray for him and ask that Jesus Christ help lead Him and our country to where it will go. For I know that Jesus Christ understands the feeling of betrayl that must grip our presidents thoughts at times.
I ask that if you believe that you too would pray for our president, not that he would be injured, or that he would be blinded by the hate that is so prevalent by many in all parties today. But that he would be blessed by God with the Spirit of peace and wisdom given by Him so that we as a nation can be led by one who is following God's Way and not the ways of man as we know them.
For those who do not believe, I just ask that you would work towards making America and the world better through less racism and greed and more love and compassion for all people.
