People may be getting tired of my articles. That is okay, because I wish I wasn't compelled to write them anymore. But since people keep thinking the right wing/left wing "Poligion" will solve our problems I'll keep telling them why they are the problems.
Now as I see it when Jimmy Carter ran against Gerald Ford he brought his faith into play to show his moral standards and I understood why. We had just had Nixon be pardoned for what to me were treasonous acts against Americans, by the man he hand picked as his successor. Yet both Nixon and Ford claimed to be "christians". Jimmy Carter was drawing a distinct line in the sand saying that his faith was much different than theirs. That was a good reason to show why he should be considered for the next POTUS at that time.
Then the "silent majority" which was actually a corrupted minority of extreme conservatives saw the chance to hijack religion and marry it with politics. To do that you needed a pretty smooth talker. Enter former actor/govenor Ronald Reagan. Not really a Christian actually more of an astrology follower. But the religious right never let the truth get in their way, they just say the same lies over and over and try to convince people that their lies are the truth, just like the devil does !!!
Well it worked for them. They have been at it ever since. They take liars and try to make them out as believers so the people will feel good about the deception being offered them as the right wing way. Look at the policies they offer as being of God and then read the Bible where God says to take care of the orphans, sick, and widows. Not only financially but to visit them and let them know they are cared for with Love, not just hand outs.
The GOP/TP policy makers are against helping everyone but those who are wealthy or want to be wealthy and are willing to do whatever it takes to gain that wealth. That is why they are labeled as the party of NO !! As in No One else matters except them.
Then we have the extreme left who want all religion left out of America, because they don't believe in God for whatever reason. They see no validity in allowing people to be guided by our beliefs individually if those beliefs don't agree with their beliefs in policy matters. They have a religion it is just based upon man and not God. So they are part of the poligion problem rather they admit it or not. Because denying someone else rights to beliefs is the same as the extreme right religionists.
Now that I have both sides thinking I'm wrong because they are right. I'll present some evidence for my way of thinking.
It doesn't matter which side of the conflict you are on, if when your side wins the other side is denied their individual rights. Think about this for a moment. It doesn't matter who the totalitarian is. They are still the totalitarian and many people are denied their rights to their own individual beliefs.
Winning becomes the goal, instead of fixing the mess. Because if your side wins they get to make the mess the way they want it. Kind of like a man and a woman who are married and the man wants to dominate the wife into behaving the way he wants her to be. So she stops providing him with the love and respect he wants and he forces her to do more stuff to satisfy his wants. While she does less because she resents the lack of freedom. Nobody wins because both people are going in oipposite directions and their marriage will fail or be a total nightmare of guerilla warfare. I've used this illustration to counsel men and women whose marriages resemble a prison instead of union of two people.
Poligion leaves out the best aspects of both dynamics and instead brings the worst of both beliefs out. Control for self gain, denial of the free will of others who believe differently than ones own belief, demonizing the "enemy" while beliving in the same tactics, walking away from ones own responsiblities to enforce the freedoms of thers in order to enjoy the ease of your parties rule for the short time it is in, then complaining bitterly about the other party doing the same thing.
I could list many more, but I'd prefer people to list their own in the comments section, because I've found that people expose the truths about themselves and their beliefs in their comments. Perhaps then we can have an open and honest discussion on how to end this degradation of the American principles and return to the moderate America that encourages hard work and fair play over wealth and power, or laziness and entitlements.
Just the way I see it.
