Let me begin by saying this is why I stopped attending the church I was attending. I don't go to church to a get a political message from either party. I go to church to gather with the saints and to hear the word of God proclaimed in Truth and Honesty. I go to praise God in worship and sing joyfully to Him and offer Him the joy in my heart for His Love in my life. I go to know that His word is being shared and it is not being discarded for the lies of man.
I will not attend a church that tells me who to vote for and how to vote. I'm perfectly capable of praying to God and asking Him how I should vote. I know The Holy Spirit will guide me when I ask for His guidance. I don't want my offerings to go for supporting conservative candidates or liberal candidates.
I want them to go for the work of God being shown. The work of God is believing upon Him whom He sent. John 6:29
Here is a couple of passages that I find to be relevant.
Jeremiah 8: 8-10
8 "How can you say, We are wise,
And the law of the Lord is with us'?
Look, the false pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood.
They are dismayed and taken.
Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord;
So what wisdom do they have?
10 Therefore I will give their wives to others,
Because from the least even to the greatest
Everyone is given to covetousness;
From the prophet even to the priest
Everyone deals falsely.
From The Nelson Bible Study:
Jeremiah contended with fraudulent scribes and wise men whose understanding of the Law Jeremiah deemed falsehood. False pen describes the idolatry and errant beliefs of the Jerusalem's leadership. The wisdom of the scribes and wise men was folly and shame because it was not founded on a true knowledge of God's word and law., 98:8
The people had interpreted the Law unwisely, believing that peace and prosperity would be granted to them. They were grossly mistaken (6:12).8:10
Funny how even today those word ring true. The church leaders are trying to say they are knowledgeable and they know who to vote for. Yet they back Mitt Romney as a presidential candidate ?? Hmmmmmm !!!! That speaks volumes about what they really are after. Are they so desperate to have their ultra conservative social and business agendas in place that they will back one who is of the spirit of the anti-Christ in Romney !! Yes it seems so.
Yet even that is not the whole story. We will have other church's say to vote for President Obama, they too will stray from the word of God to get their political message out there. Satan really does win in that situation because the word of God is not being offered, nor are the people being told to listen to God in their hearts and allow Him to speak to them as He will.
No instead we have men and women instructing people to vote the way they say to vote. Not to study and do what is best for them and their children as well as the nation, not to consider the future or the elderly or young, just to consider the here and now. That is what got us in trouble in the first place.
Reagan's lies, were believed and a generation grew up believing that being like that was being a Christian. Greed was good under Reagan, at least that is what they are known for. But I digress.
On the way home from work today I was listening to KWAVE radio and heard that the pastor speaking was taking part in the propagandist political/religious freedom this Sunday. It didn't surprise me, they are after all staunch conservatives.
But then he said they were showing the "documentary" 2016 Sunday night. The "documentary" ?? Really ??? Well okay then.
I guess they are saying the film maker is a prophet from God , and that if everything that he says will happen when president Obama is re-elected, doesn't happen as he says. The filmaker will be considered a false prophet as we are warned about in the last days. Because a prophet of God is not allowed to be wrong, if he is wrong about one thing he is a false prophet. It's in the Bible for those who don't know that.
So that would also mean that the church who spread the false prophets views was deceived and should be viewed as doctrinely weak, perhaps even false christians seeking to profit from peoiple who think they are of God.
1 Timothy 6: 3-10
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
From the Nelson Bible Study:
Here Paul refers to false teachers. He contrasts their "sick" teaching with the wholesome words (see "sound doctrine" in 1:10) of the Lord Jesus Christ. These false teachers were more interested in theory and debate than putting the truth into practice. They had a morbid desire to argue over words., 4 If anyone teaches otherwise:6:3
Destitute of the truthdescribes the uselessness of speculative religious arguments. These false teachers were by using religion for their own financial gain. Probably they were hoping that their debates on religion would gain them a following and financial support. Destitute of the truth6:5
6:6-8 What kind of life was Paul describing when he speaks of godly contentment? Paul describes such a person as having a firm understanding of the passing nature of life. The things of this world are here when we arrive and are left behind when we leave. Neither godliness nor contentment can be found in accumulating them. Things beyond God's provision of our basic needs ("food and clothing," 6:8) can be enjoyed without becoming a necessity. Paul understood that if godliness (our desire to see God's character reproduced in us) and contentment (our acceptance of God's will in our lives) depend on our environment or circumstances, both will always be unstable.
Elsewhere, Paul indicates that godly contentment must be a learned response (see Phil. 4:11). Developing godly contentment lies well beyond our abilities. That is why along with Paul we must appeal to the right source for such a character trait: "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13).
Two types of people are described in relation to wealth (see v. 17). The first type are those who desire to be rich. An inner lack of godliness and contentment leaves a vacuum filled with greed. This greed drives people into temptation, snares, and foolish and harmful lusts.Drown literally means to drag to the bottom. Paul was painting a graphic word picture of a greedy person drowning under the tremendous weight of material desires. Destruction and perdition are synonymous with ruin and irretrievable loss. This loss may be experienced in this life, as through a wrong purpose for living, or it may be experienced in the afterlife if material desires lead a person away from Christ (see 1:16; 2:4; Luke 16:1).6:9
Money in and of itself is not a problem, but the love of money is. Love of money is a root, though not the root, of evil. The love of money can drive a person into all types of evil. Greediness may cause a believer even to stray from the faith. Christians may be blinded by greed and materialism to such a degree that they break away from their faith. many sorrows: A life focused on material things produces only pain.6:10
I think people should be very wary of church's that push politics, instead of sharing the Gospel as well as the rest of The Holy Bible.
I know that the conservatives will say I'm picking on them. And that I'm using the Bible to do so. Well that is what the Bible is for in that, it is to illustate the word of God so people may know how to know the word of God, and it is to corect errors in doctrine. How it is presented and how we who are in Christ look at the ways of the world, even those who claim to be christians doing God's work.
Let me ask you this ?? Do I try to make money off of you ?? Do I try to get you to buy things from me ?? Do I offer you what I offer you free of charge as it was given to me ?? Do I ever try to tell you you must believe as I do ?? Don't I always say people can believe as they will, but that I don't have to agree that they are right, and vice versa as far as me ??
Ask yourself this. Why do the conservatives want to control your social behavior as far as your rights in your own homes, as well as who you can vote for and why do they want to make it so hard for the Democrats to vote ?? Because their agendas are all about putting them in control and taking away your freedom of choice even to believe as you will. Once in control they lower taxes on the wealthy and make it harder for the middle class and poor and try and make us subservient to them.
