I really enjoy good Biblical teaching from people no matter what their political party as long as they leave their politics out of the Bible teaching. That said I'm finding less and less of that. It's really angering me that these pastors think they have the God given right to promote their politcal beliefs as being Christian based. Now if they want to be a politician get out from behind the pulpit and run for office where people can elect or reject them. But don't stand behind the pulpit and try to pass of your party as being righteous when the long list of evils done by them are still fresh on peoples minds. That only endears them to their own kind and turns other people away from their teachings.
What you may ask set me off this time ?? I'm driving home from work listening to the radio station I normally do and a pastor speak about carnal Christians from 1 Corinthians 3:5-15. Now I don't like all I hear but I can see where there is truth so I listen and learn as I should. Until this guy states that America is broke and starts blaming president Obama by saying it happened over the last fifteen months. At that point I know I'm listening to a lie from him and it has cost him the goodwill he'd built up by being truthful up to that point.
First let me explain that to me we have not had a good Republican President since Eisenhower was in office and he was contaminated by Nixon whom even Ike disliked. So for all the conservatives who haven't learned from the errors of the GOP/TP'ers ways you probably will not like what I say. Since Nixon was in office and he trashed the presidency with his felonious crimes but was pardoned by the handpicked successor Gerald Ford chosen by Nixon. I believe the party has been the hiding place of criminals and if you look at all the criminals who were in the administrations you will see the Republican administratiions leading with the most number of crooks and low lifes in their beloved party, because the party needs to be crooked to survive. Just look at all the criminal conduct by the Reagan and GW Bush adminstrations and I'm not just talking about the crimes that were punished but also the ones that were allowed like GW Bush being appointed the president by the Supreme Court.
Those alone should raise a red flag of warning that even if they are Christians, which to me is highly suspect, based upon their actions they should be repenting and renouncing their ways. That isn't happening even with the pastors who are held to a higher standard by God.
Yet these professed Christians' will tell lies about who is to blame about things and expect people to accept it because they believe it to be true even when they are proven wrong such as the reasons from GW Bush's invasion of Iraq and his abandonment of chasing Osama Bin Laden once he was in Iraq fighting. You have to remember that GW Bush said God told him to go to war with Iraq and the conservative "christians" rallied to him as if he spoke with the word of God. I knew he was lying then, and I knew the cons were conning the people because Bush had signed into effect the tax breaks for the wealthy and he had to conduct a war to pay off his friends and supporters while weakening America and our econmy. If God had actually called on GW Bush to war with Iraq we would not have needed as many men and the war would not have lasted as long as it did.
Witness the 6 day war Israel won, witness also the war in '73 that Israel won. God was indeed behind Israel in those wars.
Witness the WWII victory given to America, England, Russia, Canada, Australia, ... and all of our allies in such a small period of time and now look at the wars of Afghanistan and Iraq and see what a fool GW Bush was to say God said to go.
Now you may say what does all that have to do with the pastors statement. Look at the cost of the tax cuts, the loss of revenue for the government then going to war in two different nations while shipping our jobs over seas and losing the income from those jobs as well as the manufacturing capacity and you will begin to see where we went broke under Gw Bush and his dreadful reign as the goof in charge. Look at the loss of revenue from all the lost homes that no taxes were collected from nationwide, look at the stupidity of the GOP/TP position that the wealthy are taxed enough when some pay no taxes at all and actually get a refund.
Then this person who says he is a pastor of God's word sides with the liars of the GOP/TP and trie to blame our curent president for the state of the country that was left to him in tatters and in two un-needed wars with unemployment rising, people losing their homes, businesses going bankrupt, banks failing, and the economy of the world teetering on the edge due to the colossally abysmal leadership or should I say the lack of any leadeship under the GW Bush fiasco of being the appointed and illegally elected president.
Oh yes, I think Ohio was put in Bushes pocket and I think he knew it and paid those who did it with financial windfalls, remember all the money that disappeared in Iraq ??
So as I said I really enjoy good Bible teaching when it is Biblical and not political. God has provided me with His Spirit to lead me and I don't need politicians to make "false christian claims" to know where He is leading me and that is from any party.
I'll just end with 1 Corinthians 3:5-15 and a little understanding of the lies that carnal Christians want to be truthful.
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.
Paul is saying that no matter who ministers to one it is God who brings to fruit the seed planted and watered by those He sends to do the work. God is the One Who is able to raise us up not man. So no matter how you came to Christ it was God Who sent those who ministered to you and you should thank Him for He raised them up as well. In other words denominations can be just a way that God works, it is not the denomination that does the saving because not all in any denomination are saved. In fact denominations can be a division that blocks God's word from being honestly delivered. We each will be given rewards based upon our works in Christ for Him and His Kingdom. Not for our works in the flesh while trying to earn salvation because salvation is a free gift and cannot be earned. Each of us is Created by God and it what we do in Christ for Him that is rewarded.
10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
We base our foundation on Christs' work being done on the cross and that being enough for us to be saved in Him. Some are trying to build on it with gold, silver, ... those that will be burned are they that are not for Christ but are personal gain in His Name. Christ is not fooled or deceived He knows why one does the work we do. We who will be rewarded will lay the reward at the feet of Christ for nothing compares to His Glory. The Christians who are saved but whose works are found to be for their own gain will still make it to heaven but with loss.
I personally want to lay as much at my Lord's feet as I can because He is worthy of all I do for Him that glorifies Him.
It would seem a pastor teaching on this would also realize that a base of political beliefs would be seen as wood, hay, or straw, and be consumed in the fire with no rewards. At least that is how I see it. Because turning people from Christ for politics is against Christ not with Him.
