I'm rejecting the business side of Christmas more and more. The way the celebration of Christs's birthday has become a rush for profits for business and debates about which party is celebrating Christmas in the Spirit of God. I have really lost the enjoyment I used to have for the season, because in my opinion satan has blinded the people with the ideas that Christmas is all about buying gifts and spending money to prove you love your family and friends.
The churchs have a hand in that. They will fight tooth and nail about images being shown to prove what they want to be seen as celebrating the birth of Christ. Yet very few stand up and tell their congregation about the real evils being worked by the materialistic rituals that now pass as the Christmas celebration and remembrance of our dear Saviors birth.
When did the birth of our Lord and Savior become a business celebration instead of a humble remembrance of He who was born to die for our sins ?? Yes it was happening when I was a child and being ignorant of what Christmas was supposed to be about I enjoyed the paganism celebrated as a worship of The Lord and Saviors birth.
No wonder so many reject Christianity today. There is very little difference between it and paganism as it is practiced by many in the "religion" they wish to call "Christianity", except the pagans are more honest about what they are really doing. They are at least truthful and declare what they are celebrating, they don't try to hide behind a false behavior and mumble words that they don't believe just to look like they are holy.
I'm sick of the materialism and have been for over 35 years, oh I took part in it for years and it made me miserable, I drank, I argued, I viewed the hypocrites then became one for a while to make my children happy I thought. Instead I poisoned their minds with my dishonesty and allowed them to become part of the hypocrisy instead of teaching them that the materialism was empty and the Truth was filling. That is something my heart still hurts for. For I was the one who could have told them the Truth at a young age and made them see the world for what it is. A collection of people who will do what they can in order to profit from anything they can including God.
Yet what do the politicians do to actually help in the situations ?? Nothing, they pass more laws for the workers to be taken advantage of and the church's go along with it because they make a profit from Christmas as well.
Where are the churchs who should be standing up and telling the business that Christmas is not about profits ?? The churchs are probabaly heavily invested in the businesses and receive larger donations as well.
Whatever happened to giving the gifts to Christ ?? We have already received ours on the cross. But I don't hear much of that from the pulpit as much as I hear about the conservative versus the liberal theology and how the liberals are trying to create a war on Christmas.
I'd just say this to all sides. Celebrate what Christmas is supposed to mean to the Christians and not black Friday or how much one can buy someone something. Jesus Christ already bought us the greatest gift, lets celebrate Him instead of materialism or political considerations.
Perhaps if the church's stepped up and said something about the rampant profiteering and the lack of true worship and remembrance of Christ people would take them more seriously about what they say they believe. In other words prove it is not the politics or money but is really God and Christ they wish to remeber and celebrate.
I'm just saying, bright lights, Christmas trees, greed, going into debt, arguing about idols being placed where people can se them, and claiming to Love Christ while they seem more concerned with winning a political argument doesn't show the Love of Christ in my view.
Now I know this will anger some people who think that all the materialism is the way they honor Christ. Hey believe as you will. Just remember heaven is not a big box store, or a political convention.
