There are many arguments within groups of people who call themselves liberals or conservatives about Christianity and Jesus Christ.
Now I don't claim to understand the thinking of the conservatives because I don't believe that conservatism is of Christ. I don't believe liberalism is of Christ either, although of the two I think liberalism is closer to what Christ preaches I don't think either fully follows Christs Way.
We were not conserved in our sin by Christ, nor is our flesh conserved by Him the flesh dies. We are liberated by Christ and become a new creature in Him. We are born of the Spirit and in doing so are made one of His Children.
Through Him are we liberated not by our works, not by our actions, nor by our political beliefs, not by anything of the flesh. He saves us. That is not conservative that is being liberated by a very liberal act of giving His life in the flesh for our sins.
He doesn't conserve us to the law, He liberates us in Him from the law and it He Whi we must follow not the law. He bacame the keeper of the Law. All of our transgressions were forgiven thjrough Him.
How conservative is that ?? I don't see it as being Conservative at all. I see it as being very liberating from the conservative mind set of one must follow the rules in order to be saved.
Legalism is conservativism. Liberation is following Christ as He calls us too.
Just the Way I see it.
What do you think ??
