I can honestly say that, before I was a believing Christian who lived my faith in Christ, I was pretty much accepted by both "christians" and non Christians. I had a prety laid back attitude. Oh I wanted people to come to Christ, but I didn't want to lose my friends or risk being offensive to some people for fear that I might seem like I was being judgemental.
1 Corinthians 5:1-13
5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles-that a man has his father's wife! 2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
I find it extremely telling that so called Christians do not understand this verse. They allow all kinds of immorality to go on within their churchs and act like they are being loving by allowing it. They think by allowing things within the church they are encouraging more people to attend their churchs. It has the opposite effect on me. If the church will not deal with the sin, then I will not attend that place for it is not of Christ.
Do you notice all the people we as Christians are not to associate with in the brotherhood of Christ.
I find this interesting in that revilers are those who scorn. So my understanding of it is do not be in the company of those who scorn the Way of Christ if they call themselves a brother or sister in Christ. In other words if we present the Word of God in context to what God is trying to teach and the people reject it or Him while calling themselves Christians. We are to try and show them their errors, if they will not listen, we are to bring others with us. If they still reject it we are to have nothing to do with them as brothers or sisters in Christ. Because they reject His Word and Way for their own way.
I've been trying to show that many who claim Christ reject His teachings and rely on the Old Testament for their understanding of God. They say are of Him but deny His Way and instead wish to impose their beliefs in the laws as what is right. What are they except revilers of Christs Way ?? They have contempt for what Christ teaches about wealth and health care. They have contempt for the poor as well as for those who work and labor for their earnings. They favor wealth, lies, and the ways of mammon while claiming to be of Christ.
Yet those very people are the ones who head up and attend many of the churchs today. They spread their lies as His Gospel and claim to be well in Him. But their beliefs show it is the money and control they believe in. So they attack we who call them out for their lies and bring about fasle charges against us. But they have no Biblical proof so they utter lies.
1 Corinthinans 2:13-16
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For "who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
Were I not in Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit, I could not discern the things that are of Him. So the natural man who looks at the word of God does not see the spiritual he sees the natural and understands only as the flesh is able to. So why should I listen to a man or woman not of Christ whose understanding is of the flesh and not of the Spirit of God when they try to tell me what the Bible means ?? I do not listen to them for they are deceived even if they do not know it. But they like to act as if they are full of wisdom. They may be full of the wisdom that perishes with them, the wisdom of this world. So while some will applaud those who attack we in Christ it is just applauding the foolish who have no substance beyond their flesh, but believe their flesh to be of the most important thing they can attain and do vile things to others to acheive what they can while still in that flesh.
Jude 1:16-2
16 These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction; 23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
I have been trying to show His Love to people. But there are those who do not respond to Love and they hate.
I hate that they hate, and how they believe that their hate will save them. For them there is no understanding of His Great Love or His Way. They believe that God is a God of hate based upon the way they were taught about God. There is one thing that causes God to hate and that is sin. No sin, no hate. Sin cannot be around God so it is put away from Him.
That is the ugliness of sin.
Now I know that people may not like this and some will claim I'm a reviler because I speak out against people who claim Christ but reject His Way. What scriptures do you offer ?? How do I reject Christ by telling the truth about those who lie about Him and His Way ??
Luke 16:14-17
14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. 15 And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. 16 "The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. 17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail.
Have I not stated over and over again the reasons I call the false believers out. Not to make myself seem righteous, for Christ is my righteousness. But because they seek to make Christs Way an abomination to Who He is. They seek to make the ways of flesh acceptable as if one can purchase or earn their salvation through their fleshly acts instead of them receiving it as a gift from Him through the cross.
Beware those who attack Who they don't know. For He is the One Who judges and it is final and there is no appeal.
9 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner- not even to eat with such a person. 12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges.
Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil person."
SCORN; (79:4). Nevertheless, the righteous will be vindicated as Christ was in His resurrection. Therefore, Gods blessing rests on those who refuse to join with the scornful (Ps.:1:1). mockery, ridicule, or contempt. This concept appears in several passages in the Bible. Among the more significant is Psalm 22:7, where Jesus Christ is prophesied as One who will become the object of scorn. This is because of the seeming contradiction between His claims and His death in suffering and disgrace. In the same way, those who continue to follow the Lord in the midst of adverse circumstances are scorned by others
These should be at the top by 1 Corrinthians 5:1-8
The system is not letting me put it there.
